How to Schedule TikTok Posts
TheBlue.social can schedule and publish TikTok videos and Photo Mode posts through TikTok Direct Post. Connect a TikTok account, choose the account in the scheduler, attach supported media, set the TikTok posting options, and pick a time.
Supported posts do not need a separate upload through TikTok Studio.
TikTok Direct Post is available on the Pro plan. TheBlue does not provide TikTok analytics, a text-only TikTok post type, or TikTok's native editing tools.
What a TikTok scheduling template should track
A practical template should include:
- video idea
- hook
- caption
- hashtags
- posting date
- asset status
- approval status
- repurposed posts for other platforms
- link or campaign name
- result notes
You can manage that in a spreadsheet, Notion, Planable, Metricool, Adobe Express, Hootsuite, or another scheduler that supports your TikTok workflow.
The tool matters less than the habit. Capture the idea, prepare the asset, schedule or publish it, then review the result.
What TheBlue supports for TikTok
The TheBlue scheduler supports two TikTok post types:
- one MP4 or MOV video
- a Photo Mode post with 1–35 JPEG or WebP photos
Video descriptions can contain up to 2,200 characters. Photo Mode has one description for the set, up to 4,000 characters, plus an optional title of up to 90 characters. Each photo must be 20 MB or smaller and fit within 1080 × 1920 in portrait or 1920 × 1080 in landscape. The video duration must fit the limit TikTok returns for the connected creator.
The scheduler refreshes the connected creator's current privacy and interaction settings before posting. You select a privacy level and can allow comments, Duet, or Stitch when TikTok says those options are available. TikTok also requires its Music Usage Confirmation for every Direct Post submission and commercial-content declarations when a post promotes a brand.
TheBlue can publish the same scheduled item to TikTok and connected Bluesky, X, Threads, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, or Mastodon accounts when the media also fits those networks. Each network keeps its own text field, so the TikTok description does not have to be copied everywhere.
Prepare a TikTok video post
The web scheduler accepts one MP4 or MOV video up to 300 MB. TheBlue reads the duration before upload and compares it with the current limit returned for the connected TikTok creator. If the browser cannot read the duration, or the video is too long for that account, the scheduler stops before creating the post.
Write the TikTok video description in its own text field and keep it within 2,200 characters. Duet and Stitch apply only to video posts. TheBlue shows those controls only when the connected creator allows them.
Prepare a TikTok Photo Mode post
Choose Photos before attaching the files. Every image must be JPEG or WebP, no larger than 20 MB, and within TikTok's supported dimensions. TheBlue checks the actual image metadata; changing a filename extension does not turn an unsupported file into a supported photo.
Photo Mode uses one description for the complete set. You can also add a 90-character title, choose one of the attached photos as the cover, and ask TikTok to add recommended music. TheBlue does not attach separate text to each photo.
Check the other selected networks
One scheduled item uses the same attached media for every selected account, even though each network has separate text. The strictest selected-network media limit therefore applies. If a TikTok Photo Mode set contains 20 photos, you cannot include a network that accepts fewer than 20 images in that same scheduled item. Reduce the set or create a separate post for the other network.
Schedule a TikTok post
- Sign in to TheBlue with email and connect a TikTok account from the Account page.
- Open the post scheduler and select the TikTok account.
- Choose Video or Photos. Attach one MP4/MOV video, or 1–35 JPEG/WebP photos.
- Write the TikTok description. For Photo Mode, add an optional title and select the cover photo.
- Refresh the TikTok creator information, then choose a privacy level and the available comment, Duet, or Stitch settings.
- Complete the music confirmation and any commercial-content declaration.
- Select the other connected accounts for the same campaign, if needed.
- Choose the publishing time and schedule the post.
TheBlue validates the media and TikTok settings before creating the scheduled post. TikTok still controls the account's available privacy options, video-duration limit, posting eligibility, and final processing.
At the scheduled time, TheBlue transfers the video to TikTok or submits the verified Photo Mode file URLs, then checks TikTok's processing status. A scheduled time starts that publishing work; it does not promise that TikTok will make the post public in the same second. Private posts can also complete without a public post URL.
Fix common TikTok scheduling errors
TheBlue checks the connected creator and attached media before it queues a TikTok post. If scheduling stops, check the message in the composer instead of retrying the same payload.
Common checks include:
- refresh the TikTok creator information if the account details or privacy options are unavailable
- select one of the privacy levels returned for that creator
- shorten a video when it exceeds the creator's current duration limit
- resize an oversized Photo Mode image or replace a file larger than 20 MB
- choose Your brand, Branded content, or both when commercial-content disclosure is enabled
- confirm TikTok's Music Usage Confirmation before submitting the post
Comments, Duet, and Stitch can also be disabled in the connected creator's TikTok settings. TheBlue turns off an unavailable interaction instead of claiming the scheduled post can use it.
An expired or revoked TikTok connection must be reconnected from the Account page. TikTok can also reject a creator who has reached a posting limit or is not currently allowed to publish. TheBlue reports those provider checks; it does not bypass them.
Cross-post without copying one caption everywhere
TheBlue keeps separate text for each selected network. Write the TikTok description for the video or photo set, then shorten or rewrite the Bluesky, X, Threads, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, or Mastodon version in the same composer.
Media limits still apply to every selected network. A 20-photo TikTok Photo Mode set, for example, cannot be sent unchanged to a network with a lower image limit. The scheduler shows the selected-platform limit before it creates the post.
What TheBlue does not support
TheBlue does not currently provide:
- text-only TikTok posts
- mixed video-and-photo TikTok posts
- PNG photos or per-photo descriptions in Photo Mode
- TikTok analytics, trend discovery, comments management, or inbox features
- TikTok's native filters, effects, editing tools, or full music library
Use TikTok's own tools when the post needs those features. Use TheBlue when the job is scheduling supported videos or photo sets and coordinating them with posts on your other connected networks.
Tools worth comparing
If you are comparing TikTok schedulers, check the exact posting workflow instead of stopping at a platform logo.
Good things to check:
- Does it support TikTok publishing for your account type and region?
- Does it handle video assets cleanly?
- Can you preview captions and hashtags?
- Does it support approval workflows?
- Does it show TikTok-specific analytics?
- Does it fit your team size and budget?
TheBlue is a good fit when you want TikTok Direct Post plus separate captions and scheduling for the other networks you already use. Choose another tool when TikTok analytics, team approvals, inbox management, or native-style editing matter more than TheBlue's cross-platform posting workflow.
