How to Create a Bluesky App Password

Create one app password for each trusted Bluesky tool you connect. That keeps your main password out of third-party apps, and it gives you one password to revoke if you stop using a tool. You can delete the app password at any time. The Bluesky page to create app passwords is https://bsky.app/settings/app-passwords .

Create your app password

Open Bluesky's App Passwords settings and sign in to the Bluesky account you want to connect.
Select Add App Password. Give it a name you'll recognize, such as TheBlue, then select Next.
Copy the generated app password before selecting Done. Bluesky shows it once; if you lose it, create a new one.
Return to TheBlue.social and use Connect Bluesky below. Enter your Bluesky handle and the app password you just copied.

After you create the password

Use it to connect your Bluesky account to TheBlue.social. Then you can review follow-backs, clean up stale followings, check analytics, get weekly growth reports, and schedule posts without pasting your main Bluesky password into another service.
